MISSION STATEMENT

Elmhurst Research, Inc.'s mission is to provide the most advanced high pressure food processing equipment joined with total science, process technology and engineering support.

ERI is committed to develop ultra-high pressure food preservation technology.  While the technology itself is over 1000 years old, it has only been recently commercialized in the food industry.   

We believe that high pressure is the better process for making foods that can be shelf stable.  Combining the technical advances made by Dan Farkas and Joe Kapp, ERI is in a unique position to exploit the development and advancement of this exciting technology.  Today, we can meet every need of the food processing community. 

Our Food Technology Branch is located at Oregon State University Food Sciences Department pilot production plant.  We have a 22 liter, 100,000 psi capacity pilot production plant that is used for product formation and pilot production.  This facility is available for formulation studies and pre-production and pilot scale production.  

Our Engineering & Fabrication is located at Elmhurst Research, Inc. in Albany, NY.  This is where basic engineering and development of specific high pressure equipment is performed.  Our high pressure food system is the first processing system that was developed and engineered specifically for food applications.  Several unique innovations and inventions have been needed to meet the specific demands of the food processing industry.  Specific equipment system designs are developed fabricated and assembled here.
