Capabilities:

ERI provides planning, design and project engineering services in the general area of engineering design. Projects have included heating, ventilation and air conditioning designs, sprinkler systems, asbestos abatement projects, fire alarm and protection systems, elevators, pressure vessels and specialized and unique testing and production equipment. Complete services to supply mechanical services to architectural structures. Projects have included modifications to existing physical plants as well as design of mechanical services for new construction and the design and build of high pressure vessels and pressure generating equipment. Applications have been residential, commercial and industrial. Clients have included Government agencies as well as small and large private companies and corporations. Work is done in accordance with all available and enforceable codes and standards.

EXPERT AND CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICES

ERI provides general forensic engineering to a wide variety of clients. Serving legal and insurance firms, particular studies have included accident reconstruction, general failure analysis and product liability studies. The technical fields of expertise have included mechanical engineering, materials engineering, civil engineering, materials handling engineering and human factors engineering. Providing services from initial discoveries to and including expert testimony, many of Elmhurst's opinions have served as the basis for very fair settlements for our clients. Plaintiff and defendant positions have been successfully presented. With our experience in the field of expert consultation, we are in a unique position to provide our clients with advice on how to reduce their exposure to litigation resulting from industrial accidents and product liability. Many potential actions and insurance claims can be eliminated before they happen.

ERI also offers expert consulting services for forensic investigations related to process equipment, pressure vessels and related equipment. Such services have included finite element analysis of piping systems and pressure vessels to determine seal and structural failure causes and fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis studies to explain premature or unexpected pressure vessel and piping failures.
